<p>Even further afield, <strong>Air New Zealand</strong> is offering discounted fares to New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga and Cook islands from or via London Heathrow - bookings must take place no later than February 4th and travel must take place before December 2008. Fares to Wellington, Christchurch or Auckland, including two free domestic flights are £689 (ca. €940).</p>
<p>Book by February 3rd and fly by March 13th, <strong>Korean Air</strong> is offering Los Angelses to Tokyo flights as low as USD 858 (add USD 100 for flights departing on Friday, Saturday or Sunday). taxes and charges not included.</p>
<p>Research from the <strong>World Travel &#038; Tourism Council</strong> (WTTC) and Oxford Economics, shows that international tourist arrivals worldwide increased for the forth year in a row and by 6 percent in 2007, to 900 million visitors. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) international air traffic grew 9.3 percent year-over-year, up to and including November 2007. According to WTTC president Jean-Claude Baumgarten, the fastest growing tourist area is the Middle East.</p>

<p>Starting at just USD 129, <strong>Delta Airlines </strong>has great deals to Mexico from various destinations in the US. Book by January 31st and travel by mid-March. Fares are one way and exclude taxes and charges. </p>

<p><strong>easyJet</strong> will add flights from their Geneva base to Ajaccio, Split (both from 29th June 2008) and Nantes (from 31st March), and from Basel to Cagliari (from 29th June). They will also begin a new schedule between Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Thessaloniki from 31st March.</p>

<p><strong>easyJet</strong> has announced that they will launch five new flights from March 31. The first two to be launched will fly from Geneva to Nantes and Berlin Schoenefeld to Thessaloniki, while routes from Geneva to Ajaccio and Split, and a route from Basel to Cagliari will debut on June 29.</p>
<p><strong>Aer Arann</strong> will from May 1, launch two new routes from West Ireland to Amsterdam. The routes will travel from Waterford and Galway (via Waterford) to Amsterdam on a four-times a week basis.</p>

On October 26, a direct flight between London Heathrow and Rio de Janeiro will start, replacing the previous flight, which required a stop in Sao Paulo. On the same date, the service from London Heathrow to Buenos Aires will change from four-times weekly to a daily flights. British Airways will also launch an extra service on the route between London Gatwick and St Lucia, upping the weekly frequency from two to three.</p>
<p><strong>Austrian Airlines</strong> will from April launch two new routes from Wien to Russia. The services will be operated three times weekly to the cities, Sochi and Nizhniy Novgorod. With the two new routes, Austrian now operates seven routes to Russia.</p>
<p><strong>Ryanair</strong> are set to launch a new route between Shannon and Palma. The route will begin on March 14.</p>
<p><strong>SkyEurope</strong> has extended its offer of tickets on sale to all their destinations. “Pay no taxes and no charges” is the offer, and save up to DKK 504 per return trip. Travel until March 18. Book until January 18.</p>

<p><strong>Ryanair</strong> will make Birmingham their 25th base, launching new routes to Barcelona, Biarritz, Billund, Bologna Forli, Bratislava, Bydgoszcz, Dinard, Gdansk, Olbia, Oporto, Oslo Torp, Perpignan, Pisa, Poitiers, Reus, Rzeszow, Stockholm Skavsta, Trapani and Trieste. All fares are on return journeys, including all taxes, and are departing from seven UK airports. <p><strong>Sterling</strong> has today launched its ninth and tenth international route from Billund. The routes opened to Prague and Sardinia.</p>
<p><strong>bmibaby</strong> is having a “super bonanza” sale, includes tickets offered at up to 50 per cent discount. Fares are available to destinations all across Europe. Travel between January 14 and April 30. Book by midnight on Wednesday, January 9.</p>
<p><strong>FlyBe</strong> has announced that they will suspend their flights from Manchester to Guernsey and Norwich for more than two months, because of the low passenger numbers, that makes it hard to justify economically and environmentally. The routes will be suspended from today till March 17 for the Norwich route, and March 19 for the Guernsey route.</p>

Travel around Europe from £ 35 (ca. € 53) one-way, or to other continents, ex. New York from £ 259 (ca. € 389) for return tickets. Travel on selected dates between January and March. Book by January 22.</p>
<p><strong>easyJet</strong> has put 23 brand new routes on sale from their bases in London Gatwick and Manchester. Most of the new routes, are former GB Airways routes, which easyJet purchased at the end of 2007.<br />
From Gatwick routes will go to Ajaccio, Arrecife, Bastia, Funchal, Gibraltar, Heraklion, Las Palmas, Malta, Montpellier, Mykonos, Nantes, Paphos, Rhodos and Tenerife (Sur), as well as routes to Dalaman (Turkey) and Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt).<br />
From Manchester routes will go to Innsbruck, Heraklion, Malta, Paphos and Tenerife (Sur).</p>
<p>The Polish airline <strong>Jet Air</strong> has launched a new route from Copenhagen to Bydgoszcz, in the north of Poland. The route will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, while the flight will take approximately one and a half hour.</p>
<p><strong>Virgin Atlantic</strong> is having a sale on flights around the world. Fares are available as return flights, and prices are including taxes and charges. Travel is for selected dates between January and May. Flights are available to destinations such as New York, Delhi, Havana and Johannesburg, with prices starting from £ 270 (ca. € 405). Book by January 22.</p>

<p><strong>bmi</strong> will drop its daily flight between Inverness and London Heathrow come March 29, double the number of flights between London Heathrow and Moscow Domodedovo, as well as increase the frequency on the service between Manchester and London Heathrow.<br />
In other news, <strong>bmi</strong> is having its “biggest sale ever” with flights available across Europe, and some destinations further away. The fares will be available from a total of 11 airports in the UK, and will offer destinations as Amsterdam, Cairo, Chicago, Venice and Palma. Some fares will be sold as one-ways, and others only offered as return tickets. Book by January 13.</p>
<p><strong>SkyEurope</strong> is offering return tickets on sale to all their destinations. &#8220;Pay no taxes and no charges&#8221; is the offer, and save up to DKK 504 per return trip. Travel from January 8 to February 29. Book until January 13.</p>
<p><strong>Atlas Blue</strong> is set to launch two new routes between Spain and Tangier, in Morocco. Starting March 30, routes will fly from Barcelona and Madrid.</p>

<p><strong>easyJet</strong> has decided to move their flights from Bucharest from one airport to the other. The flights from London Gatwick and Milan Malpensa will now arrive at Baneasa airport instead of Otopeni airport.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Irish low-cost airline <strong>Ryanair</strong> has announced several new routes to France from Dublin and Cork for the 2008 schedule. Starting May 28th, the airline will begin flying from Dublin to Brest (Wednesday and Sunday), starting April 5th to Rodez (Tuesday and Saturday) and May 28th to Tours (Wednesday and Sunday). To mark the launch of these three services, Ryanair is offering 250,000 seats for €10 one-way (including taxes) across all of its 84 Dublin routes.</p>
<p>In other news Ryanair will offer summer flights from Cork to Carcassonne, operating three times weekly on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from the end of May until the first week of September. To celebrate this route, Ryanair is putting 50,000 seats from Cork on sale for €10 one-way, including taxes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Shortly after British Airways announced the suspension of its flights between London Gatwick and Iceland, <strong>Iceland Express</strong> has announced that it will increase the frequency of its flights between London Stansted and Reykjavik. Beginning on February 26 next year, the airline will offer 11 flights per week on this route, which is two more than the summer programme. Flights will begin at £69 one-way, including taxes.</p>
<p><strong>EasyJet</strong> will start a new three-time a week service from London Gatwick to the Greek city of Thessaloniki starting on January 30, with one-way tickets starting from £27.99 (€40). In addition, easyJet has also announced the launch of a new route from Newcastle to Murcia, starting on May 17 with flights operating on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with one-way tickets starting from £23.99 (€34).</p>
<p><strong>EasyJet</strong> will also launch daily flights from their Madrid base to the Moroccan city of Tangier starting February 1st 2008. Tickets start at €16 one-way including taxes. </p>
<p>Passengers travelling between <strong>London Heathrow</strong> and south-west London can now take advantage of the 111 service Heathrow - Kingston, which has been extended from December 1st and will run a half hourly journeys throughout the night, seven days a week.</p>

<p><strong>WizzAir </strong>is adding a new aircraft at its Sofia base resulting in daily flight London, starting July 12th, instead of the current four flights a week. In addition WizzAir will start a new domestic flight to Varna, as well as flights to Milan-Bergamo, Valencia, Barcelona and Izmir (Turkey), and will increase frequencies on existing services to Rome and Dortmund</p>
<p><strong>Zoom Airlines</strong> is to begin a new Belfast to Vancouver route this winter, as well as an extra weekly flight between London Gatwick and the Canadian destination, which will now opearte 3 times a week</p>
<p>In other news, Zoom is to double its flights from Gatwick to Montreal to two per week, and will continue to fly weekly from Glasgow and Manchester to Vancouver and Calgary.</p>
<p><strong>FlyBe</strong> has completed its summer 2008 schedule, with more than seven million seats on sale across the UK and Europe. It includes four new routes, from Inverness to Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester and Southampton. The Birmingham route will begin on March 30 and operate daily, with fares beginning at £24.99 (€35) one-way, including taxes and charges. The daily Exeter route will start on May 8, starting at £32.99 (€45).</p>
<p><strong>British Airways</strong> has announced plans to launch new routes from London City Airport (as mentioned in yesterday&#8217;s blog), London Heathrow and London Gatwick next year. </p>
<p>Flights from Heathrow to Malaga, and from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Gibraltar, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Tunis will start flying from March 30, 2008. The Heathrow to Malaga route will fly daily, as will the Gatwick to Alicante, Gibraltar, Palma and Ibiza (from June, 2008) routes. The Gatwick to Faro route will have 13 flights per week, Gatwick to Malaga will be twice daily and Gatwick to Tunis will be five times per week.</p>
<p>BA will suspend its flights from Gatwick to Aberdeen, Nice, Prague, Reykjavik and Split, and from London City to Milan Malpensa.</p>

The Christmas sale includes cheap one-way tickets to Big Cities as Stockholm, Berlin, Amsterdam and London from DKK 260.</p>
<p><strong>bmi</strong> has launched a sale, with return tickets available from € 112.50, including taxes and charges. The offer runs until April 1, 2008. Booking must be made at least seven days in advance. Travel must be finished before April 9, and a Saturday night is required as minimum stay. Deals are available on routes to Glasgow, Zurich and Copenhagen, amongst others.</p>
<p><strong>Delta Air Lines</strong> is offering fares from the UK to America, with prices starting at € 316.50 for a round-trip. Travel until March 20, 2008, stay at least one Saturday night, but no more than 12 month. Destinations on sale include Atlanta and New York.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week Momondo added the Russian airlines, <strong>Rossiya</strong>, <strong>Vladivostok Avia </strong>and <strong>Kdavia </strong>to its ever growing list of airlines. <p><strong>Norwegian Air Shuttle</strong> will start new routes to from Oslo to Ibiza, Kos, Rhodes, Venice, Rijeka (Croatia) and the northern Norwegian city of Kirkenes starting with their summer schedule next year. Tickets are already on sale.</p>
<p><strong>Wizz Air</strong> have added two more flights from Cluj-Napoca in Romania bringing the total number of flights from this base to 8, including Luton, which started on November 13th. Flights to Valencia and Milan will commence on May 15th.</p>
<p>In other news, WizzAir have extended until Monday November 19th their offer of 800.000 one-way flights starting at €25, all inclusive.</p>
<p><strong>Transavia</strong> have added more flights to the Paris (Orly) base. Starting next month, Transavia will fly Las Palmas (leaving Paris on Friday&#8217;s at 13:35 and las Palmas at 17:15) and Tenerife (leaving Paris Saturday evening at 21:40, returning on Sundays early morning) during the winter season.</p>

In other news, Air France will add a fifth daily flight to their route between Copenhagen and Paris during the spring.</p>
<p><strong>Transavia</strong> will launch a new flight from their base in Paris Orly to Marrakech, Morocco. Flights will begin from March 28, 2008.</p>
<p><strong>Lufthansa</strong> has announced that it will introduce a new three-time daily flight between Frankfurt and Bristol. Flights will begin on March 30, 2008, and prices will start from € 54, including taxes and charges.</p>

Due to the increase in cost of oil, British Airways have decided to add € 15 per flight for long haul flights less than 9 hours (now € 68) , € 22 per flight for long haul flights over 9 hours (now € 82), and add € 3 to short haul flights (now € 15).</p>
<p><strong>MyAir </strong>will from December 17 open a new route between Barcelona and Bari. The route will fly three times per week until the end of March 2008.</p>
<p><strong>Bmibaby</strong> will launch two new routes from February 12, 2008. The routes will go from Birmingham to Krakow and from Glasgow International to Knock.</p>
<p>In other news, bmibaby is offering winter destinations on sale from € 27, one-way including taxes and charges. Travel from Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands and Manchester to places like Amsterdam, Geneva and Rome. Book by Tuesday, November 13.</p>

<p><strong>bmibaby</strong> has announced new routes from Birmingham to Krakow in Poland and from Glasgow to Knock in Ireland. Birmingham to Krakow flights will begin on February 12, with tickets costing from £21.99 one-way and operating on Tuesday&#8217;s and Saturday&#8217;s. Flights between Glasgow and Knock, in western Ireland, will also begin on February 12, with tickets beginning at £18.99 one-way, including taxes and operate on Tuesday&#8217;s, Thursday&#8217;s and Sunday&#8217;s.</p>
<p><strong>Ryanair</strong> continues its sale of seats and has started from its new Bristol base with flights to Budapest, Derry, Knock, Milan, Porto, Riga, Wroclaw, Bratislava, Dinard, Poznan, Rzeszow and Wroclaw.</p>
<p>Travellers to <strong>London Stansted</strong> can from the new year take advantage of 13 additional train services per week, especially early mornings. 40% of passengers getting to and from the airport use public transport.</p>
<p>German flag carrier <strong>Lufthansa</strong> is to increase its fuel surcharge for long-haul flights by €10 per leg on long-haul tickets sold from November 14th. The surchage per longhaul segment will now be €77 (£53.60).</p>

The route, that until now only as been operated by SAS, will start off from March 31, 2008. Sterling will operate the route four times a day on weekdays, but only one flight from Bergen on Saturday and one from Copenhagen on Sunday. Prices will start at DKK 359 for one-way tickets.</p>
<p>In other news, Sterling has put 500.000 tickets on sale for prices under DKK 500. The offer counts flights to all of Sterling’s routes, which counts over 40 destinations in Europe. Travel until April 30, 2008. Book by November 14.</p>
<p><strong>SkyEurope</strong> has launched its “Freezing Days – Hot Fares” sale, with 100.000 tickets available from DKK 199, all-inclusive. Travel between November 25 and March 18, 2008. SkyEurope operates four times weekly flights from Copenhagen to Vienna and Prague. Book by November 11.</p>
<p><strong>Iceland Express</strong> will operate new summer routes next year. Routes will be established from Copenhagen to both Akureyri and Egilsstadir, and also from Reykjavik and Stockholm Arlanda and Oslo International.</p>

The routes will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays leaving Heathrow at 11.30 reaching Dammam at 22:35, returning the following day from Damman at 00:01 (and 00.50 on Sundays) arriving in London at 5:55 (6:45 on Sundays).</p>
<p>Icelandic <strong>Sterling</strong> will operate daily flights (except Saturday) between London Gatwick and Malmo in Sweden beginning on March 24, 2008 and operating until October 25th. Leaving Malmø at 19:15 and arriving at Gatwick 20:15, returning at 20:45 arriving in Malmø 23:50pm - except on Sundays where flights leave Malmø at 15:40 and Gatwick at 18:45. <p><strong>FlyNordic</strong> will launch two new routes from their base in Stockholm Arlanda. From March 30, 2008 a route will open to Tallinn, Estonia, being operated four times a week. The week after, the other route will open to Bordeaux, France.</p>
<p><strong>EasyJet</strong> is celebrating New Year early with a 20 per cent sale on every seat, every route, everyday on all flights for travel from January 1 to March 19, 2008. Book before midnight on November 6, 2007.</p>
<p><strong>SAS</strong> will add an extra daily flight, and that way double the number of daily flights, on the route between Copenhagen and Moscow, starting from March 2008.</p>

<p><strong>Air Southwest</strong> will add new routes from their bases in Newquay and Plymouth. The new routes will premiere on April 28, 2008. Newquay will get routes to Newcastle and Glasgow International, while Plymouth will get routes to Newcastle, Glasgow International, Dublin and Cork.</p>
<p><strong>Iceland Express</strong> has announced the launch of five new summer 2008 routes. Beginning in the end of May 2008, routes will fly from Reykjavik to Basel, Eindhoven, Frankfurt Hahn, Gothenburg Landvetter, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.</p>
