Far, far away and Tourism growing

Iberia has launched a sale to it’s South American destinations. Book by March 14th, and fly no later than June 30th (June 18th on some destinations).

Even further afield, Air New Zealand is offering discounted fares to New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga and Cook islands from or via London Heathrow - bookings must take place no later than February 4th and travel must take place before December 2008. Fares to Wellington, Christchurch or Auckland, including two free domestic flights are £689 (ca. €940).

Book by February 3rd and fly by March 13th, Korean Air is offering Los Angelses to Tokyo flights as low as USD 858 (add USD 100 for flights departing on Friday, Saturday or Sunday). taxes and charges not included.

Research from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and Oxford Economics, shows that international tourist arrivals worldwide increased for the forth year in a row and by 6 percent in 2007, to 900 million visitors. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) international air traffic grew 9.3 percent year-over-year, up to and including November 2007. According to WTTC president Jean-Claude Baumgarten, the fastest growing tourist area is the Middle East.

EasyJet start Winter Sale, Lufthansa start Hamburg - Birmingham

Starting March 31st, Lufthansa will launch of a new service between Birmingham International Airport and Hamburg. Leaving Hamburg at 7am, arriving at 7.45am in Birmingham, leaving again at 8.15am and arriving into Hamburg at 10.55am. Flights will operate Monday to Saturday, and one-way tickets start from £39 (ca. €55).

EasyJet has started it winter clearance sale across its network on flights during February and March with flights at €20 and lower.

Starting June 5th, Norwegian will start a 3 times daily route between Oslo Gardermoen and Kristiansand, with tickets starting at 194 NOK (ca. €25 Euro), one-way including taxes.

Starting at just USD 129, Delta Airlines has great deals to Mexico from various destinations in the US. Book by January 31st and travel by mid-March. Fares are one way and exclude taxes and charges.

New Routes from Cimber Air

Danish carrier Cimber Air will start twice daily flights (once on Saturday) from the Swedish city of Norrköping to Munchen starting with the summer schedule at the end of March in a code share with Lufthansa. Also from Norrköping, Cimber Air will start a daily route to Helsinki - also starting with the summer schedule.

Lufthansa will start twice daily flights from Frankfurt to the Norwegian city of Bergen starting with the summer schedule.

Jet2 has announced an up to 50 per cent cut on fares for its service between London Gatwick and Newcastle, with fares starting at £9.99 (including taxes) between Newcastle and Gatwick, and in the opposite direction available from £19.99 (including taxes).

easyJet will add flights from their Geneva base to Ajaccio, Split (both from 29th June 2008) and Nantes (from 31st March), and from Basel to Cagliari (from 29th June). They will also begin a new schedule between Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Thessaloniki from 31st March.

New route from Billund to Riga

Lufthansa has launched a new route between London City Airport and Berlin Tegel, connecting the two cities in the fastest journey available, they claim. The route will be operated twice daily, and prices will commence at £ 45 (ca. € 68) on one-ways, and from £ 79 (ca. € 119) on returns. Both are including taxes and charges.

Air Baltic are set to launch a new route from Billund to Riga starting May 1. The route will be operated twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

easyJet has announced that they will launch five new flights from March 31. The first two to be launched will fly from Geneva to Nantes and Berlin Schoenefeld to Thessaloniki, while routes from Geneva to Ajaccio and Split, and a route from Basel to Cagliari will debut on June 29.

Aer Arann will from May 1, launch two new routes from West Ireland to Amsterdam. The routes will travel from Waterford and Galway (via Waterford) to Amsterdam on a four-times a week basis.

SkyEurope extends “No taxes…” sale

British Airways is planning to increase their services from London to South America. On October 26, a direct flight between London Heathrow and Rio de Janeiro will start, replacing the previous flight, which required a stop in Sao Paulo. On the same date, the service from London Heathrow to Buenos Aires will change from four-times weekly to a daily flights. British Airways will also launch an extra service on the route between London Gatwick and St Lucia, upping the weekly frequency from two to three.

Austrian Airlines will from April launch two new routes from Wien to Russia. The services will be operated three times weekly to the cities, Sochi and Nizhniy Novgorod. With the two new routes, Austrian now operates seven routes to Russia.

Ryanair are set to launch a new route between Shannon and Palma. The route will begin on March 14.

SkyEurope has extended its offer of tickets on sale to all their destinations. “Pay no taxes and no charges” is the offer, and save up to DKK 504 per return trip. Travel until March 18. Book until January 18.

Ryanair announce 25th European base

Centralwings will from the end of March add two new flights from Lille, France. Flights will go to Girona and Krakow.

TAP Portugal will add six extra daily services on the route between Copenhagen and Lisbon. Between June 1 and September 15, all weekdays except Wednesdays, will get an extra daily morning service on top of the already operated afternoon service.

FlyBe will launch a new route from London Gatwick to Aberdeen - a service that British Airways cancelled last year. The route will be operated three times a day, beginning on March 30. Fares are available from £ 24.99 (ca. € 37.5).

Ryanair will make Birmingham their 25th base, launching new routes to Barcelona, Biarritz, Billund, Bologna Forli, Bratislava, Bydgoszcz, Dinard, Gdansk, Olbia, Oporto, Oslo Torp, Perpignan, Pisa, Poitiers, Reus, Rzeszow, Stockholm Skavsta, Trapani and Trieste. Routes will start from April 1. To celebrate the new launches, Ryanair is offering a free bonus flight, if you take advantage of their new routes from the Birmingham base.

New routes from London to the UK and Finland

Blue 1 will on March 30 launch a new daily service between London Heathrow and Helsinki.

Aer Arann will launch a new summer route, starting May 17 and flying until September, from Cork to Brest. The flight will operate on Wednesday and Saturday, and one-way tickets start from € 69.

Aer Lingus has announced that they will stop their route between London Heathrow and Shannon, replacing it by a daily route between Belfast and London.

As a direct response to Aer Lingus’s decision to end the route between London Heathrow and Shannon, Ryanair has decided to increase their frequency on the same route. Ryanair operates flights from Shannon to its three London bases: Gatwick, Stansted and Luton. They will now operated seven daily flights on the three routes.

American voted best international airline

Book by January 15, easyJet is offering 12 million seats with up to 25 per cent off on all flights booked for the period between February 12 and May 31.

American Airlines has been voted as best international airline by reader of Travel Weekly infront of British Airways, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. American Airlines has announced new routes for 2008 from Chicago to Moscow, Milan and Barcelona.

Virgin Atlantic won first prize in Wallpaper Awards for the fastest airport check-in for its business class passengers.

On June 1st Northwest Airlines begins nonstop service from Seattle to London Heathrow, bringing to six the number of nonstop European flights out of Seattle Tacoma. Air France flies to Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG), Lufthansa to Frankfurt (FRA), Northwest to Amsterdam, British Airways to London Heathrow and Scandinavian Airlines fields service to Copenhagen (CPH).

Irish carrier Aer Arann has launched a one million seat January sale, with many tickets available for as low as €20 (£25) one-way, including taxes. The offer includes airports such as Dublin, Cork, Cardiff. Luton, Waterford, Galway, Sligo, Manchester, Edinburgh, Kerry, Belfast City, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, and Newcastle.

Ryanair announce 24th European base

bmibaby is going to begin a new route from Birmingham International Airport to Warsaw on May 27. The route will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with one-way tickets starting at £ 21.99 (ca. € 32).

Ryanair is extending its network at Bournemouth Airport. They will open five new routes on April 3 to Malaga, Munich, Nantes, Palma and Wroclaw. They will run during the summer schedule, until October 24. At the same time, they will increase the frequency on the service between Bournemouth and Glasgow. Bournemouth will now become Ryanairs 24th European base.

Starting March 17, FlyBe will launch a new route between Cardiff and Jersey. The route will run on Mondays and Fridays, as well as Saturdays between May 24 and September 27.

Delta Air Lines will resume their direct flights between Edinburgh and Atlanta. The route will be operated three times weekly between June 2 and June 30, and daily between July 1 and September 30.

Ryanair offers free seats

As posted earlier this week, Ryanair is having two million seats on sale for £ 10 / € 10, including taxes and charges. Now, they have announced that all customers booking a flight by midnight tomorrow (Thursday, January 10), will get a free bonus flight (no taxes, only fees or charges to be payed). Travel between January 22 and February 8, and again between February 18 and March 12, though the free bonus flights’ travel period ends February 29. Book 14 days in advance.

British Airways is set to operate a new route between London Heathrow and Hyderabad, India. It is set to be launched on October 27, offering five weekly flights.

SkyEurope will launch new routes from their base in Vienna. Beginning in mid June, routes will go to Olbia and Catania.

Monarch Scheduled will from March 19 launch new routes from London Gatwick to Larnaca and Mahon.

Air France has discounted fares on offer for both long and short-haul flights. All fares are on return journeys, including all taxes, and are departing from seven UK airports. Fares are available to destinations as Hong Kong, Lagos and the Seychelles from £ 333 (ca. € 500) on long-haul flights, and to ex. Belfast City, Geneva and Strasbourg from £ 81 (ca. € 122) on short-haul flight. Book by January 31.

Sterling has today launched its ninth and tenth international route from Billund. The routes opened to Prague and Sardinia.

bmibaby is having a “super bonanza” sale, includes tickets offered at up to 50 per cent discount. Fares are available to destinations all across Europe. Travel between January 14 and April 30. Book by midnight on Wednesday, January 9.

FlyBe has announced that they will suspend their flights from Manchester to Guernsey and Norwich for more than two months, because of the low passenger numbers, that makes it hard to justify economically and environmentally. The routes will be suspended from today till March 17 for the Norwich route, and March 19 for the Guernsey route.

New route from Copenhagen to Poland

British Airways has launched a sale, with fares available all over the world. Both one-way and return tickets are available, and include all taxes. Travel around Europe from £ 35 (ca. € 53) one-way, or to other continents, ex. New York from £ 259 (ca. € 389) for return tickets. Travel on selected dates between January and March. Book by January 22.

easyJet has put 23 brand new routes on sale from their bases in London Gatwick and Manchester. Most of the new routes, are former GB Airways routes, which easyJet purchased at the end of 2007.
From Gatwick routes will go to Ajaccio, Arrecife, Bastia, Funchal, Gibraltar, Heraklion, Las Palmas, Malta, Montpellier, Mykonos, Nantes, Paphos, Rhodos and Tenerife (Sur), as well as routes to Dalaman (Turkey) and Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt).
From Manchester routes will go to Innsbruck, Heraklion, Malta, Paphos and Tenerife (Sur).

The Polish airline Jet Air has launched a new route from Copenhagen to Bydgoszcz, in the north of Poland. The route will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, while the flight will take approximately one and a half hour.

Virgin Atlantic is having a sale on flights around the world. Fares are available as return flights, and prices are including taxes and charges. Travel is for selected dates between January and May. Flights are available to destinations such as New York, Delhi, Havana and Johannesburg, with prices starting from £ 270 (ca. € 405). Book by January 22.

Major sales from Ryanair, bmi and SkyEurope

Ryanair has announced that it will never add a fuel surcharge, even though the value of oil is closing in on $100-a-barrel. To celebrate their announcement, they have launched two million seats on sale from £ 10 (€ 15).

bmi will drop its daily flight between Inverness and London Heathrow come March 29, double the number of flights between London Heathrow and Moscow Domodedovo, as well as increase the frequency on the service between Manchester and London Heathrow.
In other news, bmi is having its “biggest sale ever” with flights available across Europe, and some destinations further away. The fares will be available from a total of 11 airports in the UK, and will offer destinations as Amsterdam, Cairo, Chicago, Venice and Palma. Some fares will be sold as one-ways, and others only offered as return tickets. Book by January 13.

Summer route sales from Transavia and Sterling

Transavia has launched a sale on their new routes from Amsterdam, which includes the destinations Ajaccio, Almeira, Bodrum, Catania, Corfu, Heraklion, Olbia, Palermo and Rhodos. The new flights will begin in April.

Sterling has put their new 2008 summer routes on sale. The new routes are from Billund to Olbia and Prague, from Copenhagen to Naples, Olbia, Trieste, Varna and Venice Marco Polo, from Gothenburg Landvetter to Bourgas, and from Stockholm Arlanda to Bourgas and Naples.

Centralwings is set to launch three new routes from their base in Gdansk, starting April 1. The routes will go to Manchester, Girona and Amsterdam. Another route will be launched at the end of March, flying between Wroclaw and Rome Ciampino.

easyJet has decided to move their flights from Bucharest from one airport to the other. The flights from London Gatwick and Milan Malpensa will now arrive at Baneasa airport instead of Otopeni airport.

New Years sale from Ryanair and Sterling

Ryanair is offering fares on sale in their post-Christmas / New Years sale. Travel until March 12, with loads of routes on sale from £ 5 (€ 8), one-way including taxes and charges. Travel from and to destinations all across Europe. Book by Thursday, January 10.

Brussels Airlines is offering summer fares to all their destinations across Europe and some new destinations in Africa. Round trips are available to Kenya, Uganda, Senegal and Gambia from € 499, while over 50.000 seats are on sale to European destinations from € 29.99. Travel to Africa from January 31 until June 20 (last return July 20). Travel in Europe from January 31 until August 31. Book before midnight on January 6.

Sterling is offering 50 % on all routes in their New Years sale. Tickets are limited, so hurry up and book them.

Meridiana, an Italian low-cost airline, will begin flying between London Gatwick and Olbia. Weekly services will begin from April 5.

Monarch is set to launch a new route between Manchester and Larnaca, Cyprus. The route will start from May 18, and will operate 5 days a week. Prices will begin at £ 78 (€117).

Sterling has announced the launching of two new routes for the summer schedule in 2008. Routes will go from Edinburgh to Scandinavian capitals Copenhagen and Stockholm. Prices for one-way tickets will start at £ 44 (€ 66) to Stockholm and £ 74 (€ 111) to Copenhagen.

Virgin Atlantic is offering deals from London Heathrow to Tokyo. Travel between January 9, 2008 and February 29, and return tickets, including taxes and charges, will be available from £ 549 (€ 824). Book before 10 pm (GMT) on December 31.

Getaway fares from SkyEurope and Sterling

Starting on May 24, 2008, FlyBe will fly from Newquay to Isle of Man and Reus, as well as from Cardiff to Jersey.

Sterling is offering January getaway fares from Copenhagen. Travel to cities as Bruxelles, Paris and Nice from DKK 249, one-way including taxes and charges.

SkyEurope has launched a winter getaway sale, with all inclusive tickets available from DKK 199. Travel from January 7, 2008 to February 29. Book before January 1, 2008.

Zoom Airlines will launch two new routes from London Gatwick Airport to USA. Starting in May, twice-weekly flights will be available to Fort Lauderdale, with tickets beginning from € 599, including taxes and charges. Flights to San Diego will debut in June, also twice a week, with prices from € 675, including taxes and charges. Both routes will be the first links to Europe from their respective cities.

Ryanair has €10 sale on everything

Wizz Air is set to launch four new routes, come June 2008. Routes will open from Warsaw to Corfu, from Katowice to Heraklion, and from Warsaw and Katowice to Bourgas.

Lufthansa will from April 1, 2008 launch a new route between Frankfurt and Angola’s capital Luanda. The route will be Lufthansa’s 15th destination in Africa.

Ryanair has announced 50 new routes across Europe, all starting in 2008. The majority of the flights will be connections between destinations already served by the airline. Other destinations will be new, such as Augouleme and Constanta.
In order to mark the expansion in good manner, Ryanair is offering two million seats across all its European routes for £10/€10, one way including taxes and charges. Book before midnight on Thursday, December 20.

GB Airways will stop operating flights between London Gatwick and Fez from February 2008.

bmibaby put 1 million seats on offer

Low-cost airline bmibaby is offering more than one million seats from £16.99 (€24) one-way, including taxes. Booking must be made by midnight December 27th. Tickets are available on the following routes: East Midlands to Belfast, Glasgow and Jersey; Belfast to: Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands and Manchester.

easyJet will begin flights from London (Gatwick) to Biarritz on July 4th 2008. Flights will operate four times weekly - Sunday, Moday, Wednesday and Friday with tickets starting at £17,99 (ca. €25) including taxes and charges.

Centralwings will begin twice weekly flights between the German city Dortmund and Szczecin in north west Poland, starting with their summer schedule on March 31st, 2008. Flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays and are currently available at €19,99 excluding taxes and charges. As mentioned in an earlier blog, Centralwings will also start flights from their Krakow base to Birmingham, Amsterdam and Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel).

Sky Europe are expoanding their Prague base with flights to Malaga beginning on May 25th, 2008, to Zadar from June 6th and Varna from June 12th. The Malaga flight will operate on Sunday’s, Varna on Thursday’s and Sunday’s and Zadar on Tuesday and Saturday.

SAS starts Bristol to Stockholm

Following on the heals of the recently announced Bristol to Oslo route, SAS will reintroduce its summer service from Bristol International Airport to Stockholm-Arlanda Airport on June 27th. The flight will operate on Monday and Friday with one way fares starting from £49 (€70) leaving Stockholm at 16:25 and returning from Bristol at 19:05.

Book by 22:00 on New Years Eve and take advantage of a special offer from Virgin Atlantic to Japan with outbound travel between London Heathrow and Tokoyo between January 9th and February 29th, and fares starting at £549 return (€760) including taxes and charges.

Air France is to start a twice daily service between Shannon Airport in Ireland and Paris Charles De Gaulle, starting on February 4th, 2008.

Air Berlin is offering a number of flights for £24 (€33) one-way including taxes and charges, e.g. Hamburg to Manchester, Berlin to London Stansted, Stansted and Manchester to Paderborn/Lippstadt.

Ryanair increase Dublin/Cork to France

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has announced several new routes to France from Dublin and Cork for the 2008 schedule. Starting May 28th, the airline will begin flying from Dublin to Brest (Wednesday and Sunday), starting April 5th to Rodez (Tuesday and Saturday) and May 28th to Tours (Wednesday and Sunday). To mark the launch of these three services, Ryanair is offering 250,000 seats for €10 one-way (including taxes) across all of its 84 Dublin routes.

In other news Ryanair will offer summer flights from Cork to Carcassonne, operating three times weekly on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from the end of May until the first week of September. To celebrate this route, Ryanair is putting 50,000 seats from Cork on sale for €10 one-way, including taxes.

Escape the pre-Christmas madness or the post-Christmas blues and save up to 40% off winter flights with Monarch Airlines (up to 19th Mar 08). Even flights over the Christmas and New Year period are included so get booking now before midnight Tuesday 18th December 07.

Germanwings and SkyEurope giving tickets away

Germanwings have put 100.000 seats on offer for €0 where you pay taxes and charges. This offer ends at midnight on December 16th and is valid for flights from January 1st until March 12th, 2008.

In a similar deal, SkyEurope have put 150.000 seats on sale for €0 where you only pay taxes and charges. This offer ends midninght on December 16th and applies for flights from January 10th to March 18th, 2008.

Icelandair will start twice daily flights between London Heathrow and Reykjavik starting with its summer program. Icelandair also flies to Manchester and Glasgow in the UK and in all 25 US and European destinations.

German carrier Condor is offering flights starting at 19€ (including taxes and charges) from Munich to a number of Europe’s major cities in it’s winter schedule, including Istanbul, Rome and Barcelona.

New routes to China, Notrh America and Europe.

Icelandair has decided to stop operating its route from Iceland to Baltimore, near Washington DC, from January 13, 2008. The airplane and personnel are needed for the new route to Toronto, starting in May 2008.

Lufthansa will from next year offer two new routes from Germany to China. From March 31, 2008, a new service will be offered between Frankfurt and Nanjing. The route will be operated five times a week. The other new service will go from München to Shenyang via Seoul, three times a week starting June 8.

Northwest Airlines is set to launch three new routes from London Heathrow to North America. Services will open to Minneapolis/St. Paul (starting March 29, 2008), Detroit (May 1) and Seattle (June 1). All routes will be operated daily.

Ryanair will be stopping their service between London Stansted and Brussels Charleroi early next year. At the same time they will launch five new routes from Brussels Charleroi to Bergerac, Limoges, Perpignan, Porto and Zaragoza.
In other news, Ryanair is offering a bunch of flights to and from London Stansted from £ 5 (ca. € 8), including taces and charges. Travel between December 21 and March 12, 2008. Book before midnight, on December 13.

Extra Daily flight between Copenhagen and Billund

Finnair are set to increase the frequency of daily flights between the Finish capital Helsinki and the Russian capital Moscow. In collaboration with Aeroflot, they will operate four daily flights, coming Spring 2008.

Staring March 13, 2008, bmi will start operating flight between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv. Flights will be operated daily, with return tickets starting at £ 243.60 (ca. € 365), including taxes and charges.
In other news, they have increased the frequency on their Manchester – Barbados route to three times per week.

Aer Lingus has set up a base at Belfast International Airport, where the first flights took off today (December 10). Flights to Amsterdam, Barcelona and Geneva began today, while services to Budapest, Faro, London Heathrow, Malaga, Nice and Rome will be beginning early next year.

Cimber Air will from January 14, 2008, add an extra morning flight from Billund to Copenhagen, and an extra evening flight going back to Billund. It will come at the expense of the Copenhagen – Basel service, which will lose one of its three daily services.

easyJet has announced five new routes starting next year. Routes will open between:
Luton and Pisa – daily flights starting March 30, 2008,
Glasgow and Faro – three weekly flights starting April 22, 2008,
Edinburgh and Nice – three weekly flights starting April 24, 2008,
Bristol and Olbia – three weekly flights starting April 26, 2008,

In other news, easyJet is selling late getaway deals, available in December and January. International and domestic flights are available from the UK. Prices start from £ 17.99 (ca. € 27).

bmibaby offering discounts on flights

Book by Tuesday, December 11, bmibaby is offering up to a third off all flights to all destinations for the winter season. Discounts apply to all flights until March 29, 2008 - bmibaby operates out of Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands and Manchester (amongst others) and flies to destinations such as Paris, Jersey, Rome, Prague, Lisbon, Nice and many more.

Polish carrier Centralwings have put three new routes on sale from their Krakow base. They will begin flying from Krakow to Birmingham, Amsterdam and Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel). Amsterdam flights will start on March 30th, operate Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and fares start at €19,99. Birmingham flights will start on April 1st, operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and flights start at £14,99 (ca. €21). Hamburg flights start April 1st and will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with flights starting at €19,99. also excluding taxes and charges. Fares are one-way and exclude taxes and charges.

Starting April 1st, Wizz Air will begin flying twice weekly from Durham Tees valley to Warsaw - flights will operate on Tuesday and Saturday and fares are currently available as cheap as £0,99 exclusing taxes (£22,29 including taxes). This marks the first service from Durham Tees Valley for Wizz Air.

easyJet will begin flying from Bristol to Biarritz (Sunday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday) starting in April 2008.

Starting February 11th, 2008, bmi regional will operate a new route between East Midlands Airport and Cologne, Germnany. The carrier will operate a six-times weekly service. easyJet have previously operated on this route.

Wizz Air has announced that it will start new flights from Warsaw to Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport, starting on April 1st, with 3 weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (varying times). One-way tickets starting from £16.99 (€23).

EasyJet is offering skiers and snowboarders the possibility to check-in ski’s and snowboards for free on all bookings made before December 7th. Find the fare on momondo, and when transferred to the easyJet site and enter the promotional code SKI2008 when prompted to do so at stage 3 of the booking process and the discount will automatically be applied.

Starting today, December 5th, Air Baltic will, in line with a number of other low cost other carriers, charge passengers for checking in baggage. For each piece of baggage, economy class passengers will pay EUR 4.5 (when buying ticket on airBaltic.com) or EUR 7 (at the airport) on each flight segment.

In other news from Air Baltic, it will start flights from Vilnius to Charles de Gaulle airport offered three times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Passengers will fly on Boeing 737-500 aircraft with flight duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Ticket prices will start at LTL 150 (€42) including airport fees and flights start on March 31st, 2008.

Cheap fare sale from Ryanair

Qatar Airways just recently launched a route from Stockholm to Doha in Qatar. The route will be the second direct route between Scandinavia and the Middle East, with the first being SAS’ route between Copenhagen and Dubai, which was launched in late October. Qatar Airways will operate their new route four times a week.

Air China has put flights from London Heathrow to Chinese destinations on sale. Travel before December 13, to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou, with return tickets available from € 669. No minimum stay applies, but two month is the maximum stay.

Ryanair is having a seat sale, with tickets available from € 7.5 one-way, including taxes and charges. A wide selection of routes is on offer, to destinations as Nice, Porto and Barcelona. Travel from December 14, 2007 to March 12, 2008, on Monday to Thursday and on Saturday. Blackout period runs from February 8, 2008 to February 18. Book before midnight (GMT) on Thursday, December 6.

Snow sale from easyJet

Come March 2008, Jet2.com will end its service between Belfast International Airport and Prague.

Emirates has put a number of flights on sale, with return tickets to and from all around the world starting at € 564, including taxes and charges. Travel from airports around the UK to destinations as Dubai, Beijing, Bangkok and Sydney. Travel between January 1 and March 12, 2008. Minimum stay is three days, and the maximum stay is 12 month. Book by Monday, December 31.

As expected, SAS will keep operating the route between Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, in its summer schedule. Re-debuting in May 2008, the route will be operated every Monday and Friday through the summer.

easyJet has put a long list of destinations for ski-enthusiasts on sale from € 34.49. Travel to Basel, Grenoble, Geneva, Innsbruck, Ljubljana, Munich, Sofia, Turin and Zurich. Remember that the earlier you book, the better price you will get.

European sale from British Airways

British Airways has cut the prices on an array of flights to destinations around Europe. Fares are available to big cities as Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris from € 55, or sunny destinations as Malaga, Tenerife and Larnaca from € 72. Flights are available from London City, Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester. Travel before March 31, 2008.

Flybe will add new flights from Jersey to Aberdeen and Doncaster from May 3, 2008. Tickets are available for booking.

Clickair is launching two new routes from their base in Barcelona to the Canary Islands. From January 23, 2008 they will begin operating flights to Arrecife, and from January 26 to Fuerteventura.

Finnair will, starting this Monday, up their number of flights from Helsinki to Bangkok to two per day. They will keep flying two-a-days until March 29, 2008. Come June 2008, Finnair will launch their 11th route to an Asian destination, Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
